I searched for videos of the MadBite FX3000 and could only find videos of the FX1000, an older black and white screen unit that is totally different than the FX3000 color unit. I figured I'd make a little review for anybody to hopefully help you out if you're considering buying this great little unit.
I honestly didn't know it would work as easily as it does and apparently as accurately as it represents depth, temperature, and more. The screen is very easy to see in direct sunlight, and the whole unit and sonar sender is very easy to use. The fish finder itself is waterproof and it floats, so there's no problem about getting it wet or losing it in a lake. It comes with a nice long lanyard, so I just tether it to my kayak and go.
This video shows me today on Lake Robinson in Greer, SC using the FX3000 to see where the fish were. Now if it could have helped me actually CATCH them, that would have been awesome... but it was a beautiful day on the lake, and that's always a great thing.
I bought this unit from Amazon.com ($109.98 as of this posting at this link: https://www.amazon.com/MadBite-FX3000... ). I'm extremely pleased with my purchase, and I hope this video helps you out if you are thinking about buying one. Thanks for watching, and God bless!
UPDATE 062816: For some reason after only 3 uses in the kayak, the main display unit will not power on, and it will not charge. Amazon has done an amazing job crediting my account and paying for return shipping for the unit - that's why I always buy from Amazon, because their customer service is unparalleled. Hope it was just my unit that is like this, but I figured I'd get the word out.
