Spurgeon warns the church of hypocrisy. Yet he never looks at a subject from just two dimensions. He searches it from every angle. See the careful way in which he also addresses those who say ‘The church is full of hypocrites’; or who excuse themselves. At the age of just 22 he seemed very mature as he approached a text. The church desperately needs such a searching ministry today!
