Christmas is full of movement—travel, celebration, noise, tradition, and expectation. And yet, Scripture reminds us that it’s possible to be surrounded by holy moments and still miss Jesus.
In Luke 2, the innkeeper missed an opportunity to make room for the Savior. The shepherds, overlooked and ordinary, were the first to receive the good news—and they couldn’t keep it to themselves. The wise men arrived later, carrying gifts that quietly pointed to who Jesus truly was: King, Priest, and the Lamb who would be slain. And then there’s the sobering moment when Mary and Joseph lose Jesus—not in rebellion, but in the feast.
This Christmas message from The Identity Project is a gentle but honest invitation:
Make room for Jesus, not just tradition
Share the peace you’ve encountered, like the shepherds
Worship with intention, like the wise men
And don’t lose intimacy with God in the celebration of the season
As the year comes to a close, this is a reminder not to spoil what God has been building in you by drifting away in the noise. Christmas isn’t just about what we celebrate—it’s about who we keep close.
