Car is very close to a test drive - Brakes are working, suspension bolts are tightened up, all the electrics are working, doors are fitted, driver seat installed, etc....
The only thing left to do was adjust the clutch in order to engage and change gear.
I bled the clutch lines several times and was surprised to see how long it took to get all the air out.
A major tip is to make sure all your clutch hydraulic line connections are very tight.
The workshop manual shows the initial position for the push rod relative to the yoke lever arm - it says that a 1/16th difference is needed between the yoke arm and the push rod centers. This should be done prior to installing the engine and transmission into the car. Unfortunately, I did not do this.
After creating the initial setting, you can manually adjust the push rod length until the clutch plate is disengaged, and gears can be selected.
End result is that I can now select gears without grinding and drive the car forward and in reverse.
It was a very happy moment!
