Muddy lies, frozen turf and tufty grass can make winter chipping feel impossible — but it doesn’t have to be.
In this video I show you how I practise chipping when the ground is at its worst. Using a simple toe-down setup and a few easy practice games, you’ll learn how to:
pick the ball cleanly off muddy or frozen lies
judge how far to land the ball in the air
choose safer landing spots instead of short-siding yourself
get the ball on the green so you always have a chance to save the hole
All you need is a wedge, a few balls and something to aim at — a bucket, a box or a chipping net.
This is real winter golf practice for real conditions.
