How to Make Blind Date with a Book Gifts | Creative Book Gift Wrapping Ideas

Hi, everybody! Welcome to today's tutorial! I am SO excited about this project because I've been wanting to do this for two weeks now, and finally we're going to get to do it!

Today's project is called "Blind Date with a Book"—and it's absolutely DARLING! I found this idea in a vintage store, and I knew I had to make my own version. The concept is simple but SO fun: you wrap a book so nobody knows what it is, then add clues and themed decorations so they can get a hint about what's inside without actually seeing the book. It's like a blind date... but with books!

This is such a great gift idea for SO many occasions:
• Someone who's getting well and stuck at home for a while
• Hospital stays
• Birthday gifts
• Baby showers
• Teacher gifts
• Book club exchanges
• Holiday gift exchanges

We're taking you through the ENTIRE process from start to finish—from choosing the book to wrapping it perfectly (with origami-style corners that Mom will teach you because my origami is a disaster!), to making custom bookmarks and adding all the adorable themed decorations!


✨ SUPPLIES YOU'LL NEED:

*For the Book Wrapping:*
• Books (Goodwill, thrift stores, or your personal collection)
• Brown paper OR decorative wrapping paper
• Sticky notes (for noting what the book is about before you wrap it!)
• Double-sided tape
• Scissors
• Ribbon (black and white, or themed to your book)

*For Decorations & Theme Elements:*
• Library cards (Amazon - very inexpensive)
• Printed labels and tags (print on sticky paper from the Internet)
• Theme-specific items (example: for tea theme - honey sticks, tea bags, biscotti, honey spoon)
• Small decorative items (teacups, flowers, etc.)
• Sharpies or markers for writing

*For Custom Bookmarks:*
• Cardstock or bookmark paper
• Clear stamps (various designs)
• Ink pad (black or desired colors)
• Transfer stickers/decals (Amazon)
• Tassels (black and white or coordinating colors)
• Distress tool (for edges)
• Stickles glitter glue (Mercury Glass or Platinum - Ranger brand)
• Black marker (for adding details)
• Double-sided tape or adhesive

*Book Selection Tips:*
• Check that pages are clean (no smudges or marks)
• Remove dust jacket - wrapped books look so much better!
• Use a sticky note to write down book details BEFORE wrapping
• Look up the book online to get description, genre, page count, setting, author info
