The metal tape formulation used in professional BetacamSP tapes (and related Digital Betacam, HDCAM etc.) is very thin. So if it gets attacked by mould, due to long term storage in damp conditions, it's a real problem. The mould is stronger than the tape and will glue it together along the edges, causing the tape to snap. Are we going to be able to recover this tape?
