The Real Reason the Spey Viaduct Failed

On the morning of Sunday 14 December 2025 it was discovered that the Spey Viaduct between Garmouth and Spey Bay had collapsed overnight. Luckily nobody was on it at the time. I'm absolutely gutted. It was more than just a bridge to me. Of course an online witch hunt has begun with most people pointing the fingers at Moray Council but i don't think they could have done anything about it. Here's my take on the cause and it has nothing to do with a lack of maintenance. We shall see in teh future. What makes me so sad is that i'll likely never see any kind of replacement or repair.
