In this beginner-friendly tutorial, we’re continuing the crochet tote bag make-along by joining our granny squares using the Join-As-You-Go method, a no-sew joining technique.

What I Used for My Project:

Yarn: K+C Essential Cotton (medium weight cotton)
Hook: 4mm crochet hook
Tote Bag: 13.5 x 13.5 inches
Total Squares: 8 (4 for the front panel, 4 for the back panel)
Each square: 7 rounds before joining

Important to Consider:
The Join-As-You-Go method adds an extra round to each square during assembly. Make sure to measure a test square before starting your layout. Your joined panels should fit your tote bag as closely as possible, so adjust the number of rounds or squares based on your gauge and bag size.
