In today’s video, we discuss a deeply painful and shocking incident—one more example of how a soldier, who protects the nation, becomes a victim of brutality in his own village.

This is the story of Vivek, a 30-year-old jawan of the Indian Army, serving in the Intelligence Department in Delhi. He had come home on leave to his village Dharwara (near Prayagraj) to attend his cousin sister’s wedding. The wedding date was 29 November. A house full of happiness, a decorated village, a proud father Subedar Umakant ji, and a young fauji son on leave for a family function.

But on the same day, an incident took place that ended his life forever.

Late at night, after dropping his friend Vivek Jain at the market, he was returning near his own village when a Scorpio vehicle with five men came from behind. A minor issue of overtaking and road rage turned into a deadly confrontation. Heated words were exchanged, and the situation escalated quickly.

What followed was barbaric violence.

According to the allegations, the men in the Scorpio brutally attacked the soldier with sticks, rods and weapons. The most disturbing part is that those accused of attacking him were not criminals from the underworld, but people considered part of “civilised society” and “responsible positions”:

One was a Sub-Inspector in the Police

One was a lawyer (advocate)

One was a soldier posted on the border

And two other civilians

No old enmity.
No robbery motive.
No personal rivalry.
Just ego, arrogance, and the intoxication of power, uniform and status.

After the attack, Vivek was left on the road in a critical condition—almost lifeless. Villagers and family members rushed him to the Community Health Centre (CHC). As his condition worsened, he was referred to Military Hospital, Lucknow, where despite all efforts, he lost his fight for life.

On the complaint of his father, Subedar Umakant, an FIR was registered at Thana Karchana under serious sections of law. As per the statement of DCP Vivek Chandra Yadav, the following accused have been arrested:

Rajkamal Pandey, Sub-Inspector posted in Mirzapur (also owner of the Scorpio)

Dinesh Kumar Yadav, advocate and vehicle owner (as stated)

Rajeev Kumar Thakur, a serving soldier in the Army

Bhai Lal Yadav

Raju Agrahari

All five have been booked under relevant sections (including Section 103(2) BNS and other serious provisions), and the DCP has assured strict legal action.

Vivek’s last rites were performed with full military honours and Guard of Honour, but the questions remain:

How long will such incidents against soldiers continue?

What are we learning as a society from these repeated tragedies?

Why does a small issue of overtaking or “ego” turn into murder?

Is it the flexibility of law, delayed justice, or a deeper moral collapse?

Why do some people misuse their uniform, position and power instead of respecting it?

This video is not just about one incident. It is a mirror for all of us.
We must reflect, we must speak, and we must demand an end to such brutality.
