The Glossy Black Conservancy, with support from WIRES, is updating critical habitat mapping for the Glossy Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami lathami) in the Southeast Queensland bioregion.
This webinar, presented by lead ecologist Liz Gould and spatial ecologist Shannon Mooney, is designed specifically for communities outside of SEQ and across Australia. Liz and Shannon showcases the updated habitat mapping and its broader implications as well as how the methodology can be upscaled.
The webinar explores:
🔹 How habitat availability has shifted in the past decade
🔹 The role of mapping in shaping national conservation and recovery plans
🔹 Lessons learned for applying mapping approaches to other threatened species
This project was made possible with the support of WIRES and the Pat Connors Avian Grant.
