'Everything in place' to keep British Steel plant furnaces running

The Government says it has paid for the raw materials needed to keep the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe up and running.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner claimed "everything is in place" to deliver the products to the site, although she didn't say when they would arrive.

Without a steady supply of materials like coking coal and iron ore, the blast furnaces would have to be shut down, which could cause irreparable damage to the operating system.
