Nguyen The Son was born in 1978 in Hanoi, Vietnam. As a visual artist, Son has found his own unique expression technique. Photography, photo printing, array contouring, laser cutting, affixing the image to the forge, finally adjusting the distance to create reliefs and scene layers – each of these stages is a combination of photography, graphics and sculpture. Son uses this technique to recreate the image of old townhouses and collective houses to create a visual effect that intertwines the real and the unreal. Such works are what he calls "photographic reliefs". Son has had about 20 solo exhibitions and group exhibitions held in Vietnam and countries such as the US, UK, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, etc.
