Can Narrow-gauge Engine Move for Photo-Op? Carson Colorado #18 visits #9, who needs TLC, & moves her

Carson Colorado's SP #18 had been trucked up to Laws, north of Bishop, CA. Laws has a full narrow-gauge train, which had been donated by Southern Pacific Lines to Inyo County and the City of Bishop, back in 1960. Unfortunately, engine #9 had been deposited on the Laws grounds in non-operational conditions and had been left as static display with minimal TLC. In honor of the 140th anniversary, both societies thought it be time to have an historic train run on the original tracks at Laws to promote the Owens Valley railroading history and future. A big draw and fundraising aspect was the historic railroading photo shoot guided by Lerro Photography. In preparation for the two-day photo shoot, the volunteers of the Carson Colorado Railway and of Laws Railroad Museum worked diligent to unite and position the sisters in favorable spots. First, #18 slowly pulled #9 while volunteers walked along and oiled #9's joints and axles.
