720Hz Glossy Tandem OLED (ASUS PG27AQWP-W)
In this video, I dive into the latest glossy W-OLED monitors and why they’re such a massive upgrade over matte OLED and even QD-OLED displays when it comes to clarity, brightness, and HDR performance. I recently reviewed the 32-inch True Black Glossy OLED from ASUS, but today I’m talking about two new 27-inch models: the ASUS XG27AQ-WMG, a 1440p 280Hz OLED monitor with a big brightness jump to around 335 nits for better HDR1000 performance, and the ASUS PG27AQWP-W, which takes things even further with a 540Hz mode at 1440p and even a 720Hz option at 720p. Both use the new four-layer True Black Glossy W-OLED panels, delivering higher brightness, better contrast, improved color accuracy, and significantly improved ambient light handling compared to QD-OLED, while still keeping the deep blacks OLED is known for. And for those holding out for higher resolution, I can confirm a 4K glossy W-OLED variant is expected in 2026, likely teased at CES, which could be the ultimate monitor with unmatched clarity, brightness, and color performance.
