Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a fresh attack on the Congress, alleging that past governments promoted a “one family” culture while neglecting the contributions of several national icons. Addressing a gathering in Lucknow at the inauguration of the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, PM Modi said many leaders who worked to strengthen India’s unity and identity were overlooked during Congress rule. He claimed that under the UPA government, figures associated with the BJP and nationalist movements were repeatedly disrespected. The Prime Minister said his government is committed to giving due honour to all leaders, regardless of political affiliation.
