The Up-Helly-Aa celebration is a traditional event from the Shetland Isles in the north of Scotland. Hundreds of locals dress in Viking regalia and march through town with lit torches, descending upon a sacrificial boat that is burned and sank at the end of the event.
Though normally celebrated in January the celebration was also held in June 2010 to attract more visitors to the region. There were several different "Clans" of Vikings represented as well as some traditional songs being sung.
