The IBA's decision not to renew the Southern franchise had a lot to do with the shareholding structure of the company. It certainly could not be said that Southern's programmes were not up to standard. Southern produced 'Worzel Gummidge' a favourite of many & networked by ITV. Local programming was very strong. The 'flagship' programme 'Day by Day' won many TV awards during it's lifetime. Sad to see the old company go, but go it did. This is the first, edited part of Southern's final programme. Part Two can also be seen on this Channel.
