American Reacts to Cockney Rhyming Slang

What on earth is Cockney rhyming slang? In one of my earlier videos, someone mentioned a “true Cockney” and I had no idea what that meant. Thanks to Matthew’s recommendation, I finally learned about this fascinating part of British culture.

Cockney slang is basically English… but with a twist. Instead of saying the actual word, you replace it with a phrase that rhymes. At first, it’s hilarious and confusing, but after a while, I realized just how clever and unique it really is.

Honestly, I was blown away by this. I laughed, got confused, and now I’m just fascinated. This is such a fun glimpse into language, culture, and history in London.
