Weapons Wins, Fantastic Four Falls Again…

Weapons outgunned Freakier Friday in their box office debuts, while The Fantastic Four First Steps had a great fall.

With $12.5 million, Weapons posted the third biggest opening day of 2025 for a horror movie, behind Sinners and Final Destination Bloodlines, and it blew away Longlegs and Barbarian among past similar horror movies. Freakier Friday was not as freaky as Freaky Friday 2003, coming in second with $9.6 million.

Fantastic Four First Steps dove 61% in its third Friday, falling even further behind Superman at the same point. Not only that, the MCU F4 fell harder than Fantastic 4 from 2005.

Meanwhile, The Bad Guys 2 and The Naked Gun rounded out the Top Five, while Superman landed in sixth and is about to top Batman v Superman to become the highest grossing Superman movie (not adjusted for ticket price inflation).
