Gardening with Zero Experience
Hi, I am Shetland Chef living on Scotland’s northerly island. This is my story 15 years ago I moved to Shetland as a young trainee to work with local produce and producers. Along the way I have had pop-ups, taster menus, spent a year learning about foraging in Shetland, learnt a bit about fermentation and preservation, I was also fortunate enough to cook for celebrities and be featured on television and the radio and. So last year I decided to challenge myself by trying to grow my own vegetables to feed my guests.
With one big problem, I have Zero growing experience! but despite all these problems, I managed to produce all of this, and even use some of it to feed my guests.
