In this video, our volunteer Fabio Malaspina shows you how to tie a "White Death" streamer, a Jeff Blood design that imitates a baitfish and was originally designed to target steelhead. You can dead drift it under an indicator with a nymph, strip it, or swing it to target steelhead, trout, panfish, smallmouth, largemouth, etc. Try tying it in different colors: black, white, olive, brown, and purple. Always check your local fishing regulations for the number of flies you can use.
Materials list:
Thread: 140 denier Fire orange and 6/0 black
Hook: 4XL streamer hook size 4 down to size 10. I used an Orvis 8088 size 4, but you can use a Daiichi 2220 or other 4X streamer hook.
Body: Mylar cord size small or medium, you can also use metallic braid, or holographic silver braid.
Tail: White bunny strip
Fly tying skill set rating = Easy+
