Manchester City were held by Brighton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in their final Premier League fixture before the international break.

City slipped to defeat last week at Nottingham Forest to complicate their bid to finish in the top four and secure a Champions League spot - but victory over Brighton would haved boosted those ambitions by putting four points between the two sides.

Pep Guardiola's men took the lead after a good start when Omar Marmoush won a penalty and Erling Haaland converted. But Pervis Estupinian's well-taken free kick levelled the scores.

Marmoush rifled in a second for City before the break, which was again cancelled out by an unfortunate Abdukodir Khusanov own goal. Nico Gonzalez hit the post and Brighton wasted some good chances as the points were shared.
