It's been 14 months since my diagnosis of breast cancer and exactly a year since I had a double mastectomy. In this video, I share my story, the reasons why I chose to have surgery and a real life discussion of my recovery. It was difficult but doable. This is a major surgery that requires careful consideration but, in the end, I have no regrets. It takes a lot of time to recover both physically, mentally and emotionally.
If you are just beginning your journey with breast cancer, I know just how frightened and stressed you must be. I was too. Always carry hope in your heart and remember to tell your friends to get those mammograms. The earlier you catch it, the easier it is to treat with much better outcomes.
