Cracked Flooring Exposes the Crypt below Norfolk Church Ruin as Grave Ledger Stones still Lay Inside

Dating back to the 14th century this hauntingly beautiful church has been abandoned for nearly a century. In 1906 the round tower crumbled and fell into the nave below. A Victorian roof was then added but the church structure was still deemed unsafe and it finally closed in 1936. The remaining furnishings were donated to a nearby church. When exploring the inside of the church grave ledger stones from the 1700s still lay on the ground near the altar and cracked flooring exposes the crypt below. The back churchyard has an abundance of overgrown gravestones which are scattered amongst the undergrowth. This church is on private land and can only be entered with permission of the home owners because the ruin sits in their back garden. Out of respect to them I won’t be sharing too many details on this occasion.
