Like most motorcycling enthusiasts I've always wanted to try my hand at riding a bike on a race track. So when TVS Racing invited me to attend their Level 1 Training School at the Madras Motor Race Track about a week ago, I jumped at the opportunity. During the one day session, we were taught the basics about riding on a track in terms of safety (gear, safety, track manners, flags) and also basic technique (racing lines, starting, braking, body movement etc.).

I didn't expect to connect with the idea of riding on a track, but a few laps in the adrenaline began to kick in and I realised that it's something that I actually really enjoy. I've shared a summary of my first track riding experience in this video.

BTW, anybody can participate in the TVS Racing Training School programme. You need to register with them and join a session whenever it's happening. They charge between INR 7000 to INR 10,000 per person, which includes the use of the track, all the trainers and track officials, race-spec Apache RTR 200 bikes, full riding gear (except the helmet) and food, water etc. Look them up if you want to try this out.
