Un-Boxing My New TATONKA Alcohol Burner Stove

Lately I've had a lot of people asking if I would give my thoughts on the Tatonka Alcohol Burner stove but the problem that I've had in the past is that this is mainly what I would call a European stove. I haven't found it at any of the local camping stores and eBay seemed to only have ones that were coming out of Great Britian. That made them kind of expensive.

But then a week or so ago I found someone here in the States that was selling one on eBay. I got a burner and the potstand on a bit of $32 plus $4.50 shipping. It arrived yesterday so I thought I would do an "Un-boxing". People seem to like to watch "un-boxing" videos.

In the video you'll see that I surprised that it seems to be a knock-off of a Trangia burner. In fact the caps are interchangeable. Same thread and everything. Just that one is made of brass and the other is made of stainless steel with a little larger tank. The cap is even interchangeable with the Pathfinder Stove. Go figure.

The stove and the stand will be added to the flame adjuster (what we call a simmer ring) that I already had. I already had a Totonka flame adjuster because it fits on the military Trangia burner which doesn't have a simmer ring.

I think we can look forward to a number of tests on the TATONKA Alcohol Burner Stove set, from flame tests to several boil tests. I welcome any ideas.
