The streets surrounding Scotland Road are a far cry from the sunny villages of Italy.
But they were once home to a community of Italian families who left their mark on Liverpool, from the instruments they played to the mosaics they laid in St George's Hall and some of the city's famous buildings on William Brown Street.
The Scotland Road area on the edge of the city centre became known as Liverpool's 'Little Italy' due to the number of Italian immigrants who settled there between 1860 and 1920. Debra D’Annunzio is a fifth generation Scouse Italian who is fiercely proud of her roots.
