My makita ls1214lr mitre saw was starting intermittently, sparking a bunch, running weak and motor brake was not working at all.
I sanded the brushes but that made no difference.
In this video i expose the commutator and polish it with 1000 grit sandpaper.
After polishing the motor works like new.
