This work proposes a concept for enhancing the security of information transfer in chaos-based data transmission systems that utilize analog chaos oscillators, as well as their digital counterparts. The core idea is to detect/derive the parameter of the transmitter’s chaotic system at the receiver. If the detected parameter does not satisfy the requirements, the message is ignored. This parameter can then be adjusted with each message, following some pattern. The receiver has the pre-agreed information on this pattern (Key). This work highlights the core aspects and design of the estimator in the case of the Vilnius chaos oscillator
