The ethnic minority communities of the Banyabindi and Basongola in Kasese District have petitioned the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) Tribunal, citing discrimination and persistent lack of equal opportunities within local government structures.
Appearing before the tribunal chaired by Joel Cox Ojuko, the complainants presented four witnesses to support their claims of marginalization.
However, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Kasese District, Paul Walakira, noted that he only recently assumed office and is still familiarizing himself with the district’s challenges.
