Welcome to Episode 6 of my Malaysia Series 2025!This is Day 2 in Langkawi and my last full day on this magical island — so I decided to do one of the most iconic and thrilling experiences here: the Mangrove Tour in Kilim Geoforest Park, which is part of the UNESCO-listed Langkawi Geopark. 🌿🛥️
📍 Kilim Geoforest Park – Nature & Thrill ComboI booked the Mangrove Tour (₹1800 INR) that includes multiple stops across Langkawi's beautiful east coast. We began the day with a speed boat adventure, racing through the dense mangrove forest, passing Crocodile Cave and scenic limestone cliffs before arriving at our first stop.
🦇 Bat Cave ExplorationOur first stop was the mysterious Bat Cave (Gua Kelawar) where I walked through pitch-dark tunnels filled with hundreds of bats hanging above — eerie yet fascinating!
🐟 Floating Fish Farm & StingraysNext up was the Floating Fish Farm, where I encountered exotic fish species, including pet stingrays you can actually touch. This was also the place where we placed our lunch orders (veg/non-veg options included in the package). They cook it while you continue the tour — smart and delicious!
🐒 Monkey Spotting & Mangrove RideWe resumed our journey through tight mangrove channels, hit bumps on the thrilling speedboat ride, and reached the monkey territory. I learned something amazing — Langkawi monkeys can swim! 🐒🏊‍♂️
🦅 Eagle Watching PointThen came one of the most jaw-dropping moments: dozens of majestic eagles swooping down for food — seen super up-close. Fun fact: the name Langkawi is believed to have originated from the ‘Helang’ eagle species found here. 🦅
🏖️ Long Sand Beach – Crystal Clear VibesWe had a 30-minute break at Long Sand Beach, a quiet stretch with clear turquoise waters, small colorful fishes, and views of Thailand's coastline — yes, Thailand is just across the sea here! 🇹🇭🇲🇾
📸 Photo Stop at the Kilim Geoforest Park LandmarkWe stopped by the official Kilim Geoforest Park signage for some must-click photos. This is the most photographed spot in the park — so I couldn’t miss it!
🍽️ Lunch at Floating RestaurantFinally, we returned to the fish farm for our complimentary lunch, with the option to purchase drinks separately. Fresh, local, and satisfying!
