If you've been listening to SB19's songs for a while now, you might have noticed a pattern, especially when Radkidz is behind the production. Their tracks often lean towards a rock or hip-hop style whenever Radkidz is involved in producing. For those who don’t know, Radkidz is actually the screen name used by the brothers Pablo and Hoswe. Over time, it’s become pretty easy to identify their signature sound.
Their newest track Doongka, seems to be another fusion of hip-hop and rock. It doesn’t sound like it's going to the EDM pop route, unlike some of their previous hits Gento and the newly released Dam. One reason could be that there might not be a music video planned for this release. Usually, when SB19 drops an EDM pop track, it’s super danceable and visually dynamic, which makes it perfect for a music video.
And speaking of EDM pop, that genre stands for Electronic Dance Music. It’s known for its catchy artificial sounds and is often paired with high-energy dance breaks. When SB19 goes this route, there’s a strong chance that Mr. Simon Servida is part of the creative process. He’s incredibly skilled at producing electronic sounds and has even taught beat making himself. So his influence is easy to spot in their more pop-oriented tracks.
Going back to Doongka, based on Radkidz’s previous works, this one might feel a bit heavier and more aggressive, possibly in the same lane as Pablo’s solo track Mitcha, which had hard-hitting lyrics and a raw emotional vibe. Stell once mentioned in an interview that there’s a song even more intense than Dam,”
and maybe this is the one he was referring to. And if you think of it, this track is reminiscent of previous songs like Crimzone but with no excessive use of electronic sounds.
To me, this track feels very Pablo. He has a strong preference for this type of sound, and that’s something A-Teen has come to really appreciate about him. EDM pop will always be SB19’s most viral and mainstream genre, but this track feels more personal and true to Pablo’s unique writing style.
Before I wrap up this video, I just want to say that these are all just my predictions about how this track might sound on April 25th. I could be wrong or I might be right at the same time. But how about you A-Teen? What do you think of this new track based on the short teaser we’ve heard so far? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.
