The Volkswagen Corrado G60 Supercharger Technology

The Corrado is Volkswagen's first full-blooded sports car. The name Corrado is derived from the Spanish verb "Correr," which means to run, to race or to sprint. It is an apt name for this innovative and dynamic sports car.

In this video we look at the 1.8 litre G60 supercharged power unit. The G60 engine offers good pulling power combined with outstanding flexibility. The high torque figure of this engine is comparable with that of many 2.5 litre normally aspirated engines.

The programme is designed to give workshop personnel an insight into the technical details of the supercharged engine and should be a starting point for further self development. Answering the accompanying workbook questions and using the self study books, 101 and 103, plus practical exercises, will help to reinforce the learning process.
