Biz Markie, real name Marcel Theo Hall, passed away a few days ago following complications from diabetes. I used to bump Vapors heavily in my teens and decided to revisit this classic upon hearing of his death. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a music video for this song! I never seen it before.
Biz wasn't a gimmick or a funnyman. He was a talented beatboxer and M.C., overflowing with talent and natural charisma that is easily recognizable with just a smidge of attention. We lost a hip hop icon on par with the greats, and he will be missed.
