Diddy Kong Racing. Probably my favorite racing game as a kid. Even though I never noticed the marginal effect bananas had on your character, I still enjoyed all the different powerups, especially how you could stack the balloons and such. This track was one of my favorite from the game, and the instrumentation was fairly easy to adapt to my rhythm + saxes instrumentation.

Mixing-wise, the bari was a new challenge for me to put in here. It had a pretty good sound to start off, but keeping the bright tone under control and blending it with the tenor in some spots proved to be a challenge. I tried to emphasize the kick drum some in this cover, but it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. Perhaps some multiband compression will work.

Next week's cover will be another tune from a relatively new racing game!
