Last week: strong winds, no electricity, no internet in São Paulo, Brazil.
Online teacher nightmare mode: ON 😅
But!
The few brave souls who actually made it to my studio got the deluxe, unplugged LEAKS experience. 💪
Here’s what we did:
🧰 LEAKS Method basics (aka: no hiding on your instrument)
Solfège everywhere & the famous 3 Regions Exercise:
• One diagonal “highway” up and down scales & arpeggios
• Three regions across the strings
• And yes… the “one string only” exercise (thanks Charlie Banacos, ❤️)
🚀Today’s challenge:
Rhythm Changes in Eb
→ Improvise one full chorus per string (
→ Using only the major scale
→ While singing along
Easy?
😂 Absolutely not.
Effective? 100%.
You start seeing every single note, hearing intervals clearly, and actually thinking melodically instead of guessing.
