After finding out how much better Monocopter 17.3 flies with the smaller, 5-inch propeller, compared to the 6-inch prop, I took out my trusty old fibreglass+tape design to see how well it flies with the 5-inch prop. And it flies amazing!
It is significantly more efficient then the 3D printed designs due to lower weight (194 g now with a smaller ESC).
It is also much more efficient than itself with the 6-inch prop!
The battery voltage before this flight was 8.10V, after it was 7.9V, which, using the LiPo voltage chart (https://blog.ampow.com/lipo-voltage-c...) gives a theoretical endurance of 15 minutes!
Horizontal flight here was a bit slow, I just flashed the 16.4 firmware which has a somewhat low flap_constant (so the flap didn't move as much as it could have). But you can still hear the servo working hard in the video!
