My Patreon Story:

Several weeks ago I was sitting in the car with my friend and a man walked up to the window looking like he wanted to ask me something. I rolled the window down and he said,

"Sorry to bother you but I noticed when you were walking through the parking lot you're missing your hand and I wanted to show you my daughter..."

Next to him was his wife and baby girl who was also born without her hand. They hadn't met anyone like me yet and the doctors who oversaw their daughter's birth couldn't tell them where to go or who to connect with for support and encouragement.

They were so relieved and happy to meet me. They asked questions about my life and I told them about my YouTube channel and Lucky Fin Project. My heart melted.

We said goodbye and as I was processing that precious exchange, my friend next to me said,

"Abby, moments like these are the reason you need to do Patreon. It's more than just you.. it's bigger than you and people need the encouragement."

I had been considering Patreon for months, realizing that my subscriber's time and money is valuable, and wanting to be absolutely sure I put out the kind of content that is worthy of it, but that was the moment that I decided to just do it.
