U.S. Vice-President JD Vance is on a three-day visit to India as President Donald Trump's tariffs loom. As per reports, India is expected to discuss a possible bilateral trade deal with the US to avoid the trade tariffs. JD Vance had a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi where the two discussed topics of bilateral interests to both countries. This is Vance's maiden visit to Asia after he took over the Vice-Presidential office in January. Vance's visit follows a visit by Trump's intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard. Further, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth is expected to visit the sub-continent as well. All these high-profile visits are expected to culminate in a much-awaited visit by Trump who is expected to attend the QUAD summit hosted by New Delhi later this year. Vance is scheduled to deliver a speech on trade and other bilateral policies in Rajasthan. Palki Sharma tells you more.
