How are Drills, Taps & End Mills Made? Greenfield Industries Factory Tour

We were invited up by ‪@GFIICuttingTools‬ to take a tour of their cutting tool factory located in Seneca, South Carolina. There we got to witness how drills, taps and end mills are made. Starting from a high speed steel tool blank and taken through a series of grinding, coating labeling and packaging processes to end up with a beautiful cutting tool ready for your machines! #cuttingtools #factorytour #americanmanufacturing

I was surprised to learn that 80% of the high speed steel that Greenfield uses for new tool production is 80% recycled material.

This was a wonderful learning experience for us getting to see the manufacturing processes up close and personal and have a better understand of what it takes to crate a precision cutting tool.
