We all know that the explosions that destroyed Reactor Four of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant began at around or just before 01:23:45 AM on April 26th, 1986. These explosions threw the Upper Biological Shield upwards and then caused the complete collapse of the northern face of the building, killing Valery Khodemchuk. But what if I told you that there was another explosion that may have been as powerful as the first explosion, and yet it has been completely forgotten? You may not believe it, and yet the evidence is there. So, let’s explore the forgotten Chernobyl explosion.
