Filmed live at the legendary Pit Inn in Tokyo earlier this month, Takeo Moriyama and his band give a blistering edition of 'Ta-ke', a track from his 1983 masterpiece ‘East Plants’ album, newly reissued by BBE Music as part of their J Jazz Masterclass Series. The band tackle the number with gusto, charging into the main head. The solos are: tenor, trumpet, alto and piano, with Moriyama’s drums churning and thundering in the background before letting rip an explosive solo. The band then return to the head once more to finish. Our deep thanks to Moriyama-san, Fujimori-san and the band for their cooperation and assistance.
