Once known as Bowesdorp, the town was relocated in 1924 when the Dutch Reformed Church moved to its current site — marking the true beginning of Kamieskroon as we know it today.
The church still stands proudly at the centre of town, its walls and simple steeple reflecting a century of community life in this remote corner of Namaqualand. Surrounded by vast open spaces and wildflower-covered valleys, Kamieskroon remains a place of peace, faith, and timeless beauty.
