Druid Arch is a hidden treasure and one of the most exciting hikes in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. It truly has it all: a challenging, diverse, and unforgettable journey.
This ~10.8 mile round-trip hike takes you through a stunning variety of terrain:
Slick rock hiking and fun scrambling sections
Wandering through scenic sandy washes
An exhilarating ascent up a metal ladder
Squeezing through a narrow, unique crack in the rock
With Phenomenal views of the Needles formations the entire way!
The Reward: Druid Arch - The reward at the end is worth every step! Druid Arch is massive, towering, and dramatically angular, unlike any other arch in the park. Its unique, monumental structure with two distinct portions makes it an unforgettable sight.
Quick Trail Stats & Tips
Pro-Tips:
1. Start early, bring plenty of water, and wear shoes with good grip—you'll need them for the slickrock and scrambling!
2. You can add on additional trails to make a longer day hike or get permits to backpack and overnight. If you feel like an additional five miles, hike over to The Joint Trail before returning to your car.
