Genesis Sedillo on the Impact of Innovative Stuttering Treatment at UT Austin

As a young child, Genesis Sedillo felt like a failure because no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t stop stuttering. The Arthur M. Blank Center for Stuttering Education and Research’s innovative treatment showed her she can communicate effectively and be successful, even with a stutter.
“The CARE Model has made a huge impact on my home life,” says Genesis, who graduated this month from The College of Education at UT Austin. “(My family) started to see I could live a great life, stutter or no stutter.”
