Chicken Manchurian is one of the most popular dishes – crispy fried chicken tossed in a tangy, spicy, sweet garlic-soy sauce. You can make it dry (as a starter/appetizer) or with gravy (to serve with fried rice or noodles).
Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the chicken balls/marination:
500g boneless chicken
2 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp flour (maida)
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp soy sauce
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
4–5 tbsp oil
1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
2–3 green chillies, slit or chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 small capsicum chopped
3–4 tbsp spring onion greens, chopped
1–2 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tsp vinegar
½ tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp cornflour
½–1 cup water
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1 small carrot
2 tsp corainder leaves chopped
1/2 tsp Kashmiri mirch powder
