Iron Maiden is one of the most important bands in metal music. I became a huge fan after first hearing their music while in middle school. This recipe is a tribute to the band and they're Trooper Ale beer. UP THE IRONS!!
Trooper Rub
. 1 tablespoon kosher salt
. 1 tablespoon coarsely cracked black pepper
. 1 tablespoon Chili powder (use a good quality)
. 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
. 1 teaspoon granulated onion
. 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
. 1 teaspoon English dry mustard(colemans)
. 1 teaspoon chipotle powder or cayenne
Trooper Glaze
. 12oz trooper ale
. 1/2 cup honey
. 1/4 cup brown sugar
. 2 tablespoons mustard powder
. 1 tablespoon soy sauce
. 1 tablespoo worcestershire sauce
. 1 tablespoon minced garlic
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat. Cook until liquid is reduced by about half, remove from heat and cool. Note that the mixture will continue to thicken as it cools.
