Is a 6 hour layover long enough to visit The Mall of America at MSP

We had a six-hour layover in Minneapolis on our way to Ireland, so instead of sitting around the airport, we decided to make the most of it! We hopped on a quick 10-minute train from the Minneapolis–Saint Paul (MSP) Airport to the Mall of America, which has always been on our list to visit. After spending a few hours exploring and grabbing some pizza, we headed back to the airport to continue our travel day to Dublin.
Security was surprisingly quick and easy, and before boarding we stopped by the Capital One Escape Lounge. It was pretty busy, and the food selection wasn’t huge, but it was definitely more comfortable than waiting in the terminal.
For the long flight to Dublin, Ireland, we upgraded to exit-row seats for about $100 more per person, and it was so worth it. The extra legroom made a huge difference, especially for an eight-hour overnight flight. We had plenty of space, didn’t have anyone climbing over us, and it made the whole trip so much more comfortable.
Once on board, we enjoyed dinner (I got the chicken entrée with rice, black beans, and veggies), had a drink to relax, and tried to get some sleep so we could land in Dublin feeling refreshed.
Coming up next: our first full day exploring Dublin, Ireland navigating jet lag, sightseeing, and diving into our Ireland adventure!
