If you own a Jaguar XK8 or XKR (X100), you know that relays are tucked away in some very unexpected places. In this video, we go beyond the standard fuse boxes to show you exactly where every relay is hidden—including the "secret" ones behind the dashboard and under the front bumper.
We cover the three main types of relays used in the XK8:
Brown (40A / 4-Pin): Part No. LJA6703AA
Black (30-40A / 5-Pin): Part No. LJA6707AA
Micro (20A / 4-Pin): Part No. LNA6705AB
What we cover in this deep-dive:
Engine Compartment: Relays for ignition, horn, headlamps, air conditioning, and the engine management system (EMS).
Bulkhead Extensions: Finding the starter motor, wiper control, and heated windscreen relays.
The "Hidden" Bumper Relay: Locating the large cooling fan relay module tucked under the LH headlamp.
Luggage Compartment: Relays for the fuel pump, rear fogs, and the specific convertible top (hood) relays.
Behind the Dashboard: Locating the door mirror heaters, heater blower motors, and the air conditioning isolation relays.
Important Note on Socket Colors: The relay sockets themselves are color-coded (Black, Brown, Blue, and Violet) to help you identify the correct application. Always refer to the wiring diagram for your specific model year (AJ26, AJ27, or AJ34).
